The AirDog is a fuel air separation system. It pulls the fuel, strips out the water, the grit, and the entrained air, and sends clean fuel to the engine under steady pressure. What it costs
Two pieces make up the price: the kit and the labor.
The kit is the bigger number. What you pay depends on your engine and the flow rate you need. A Cummins, a Detroit, a PACCAR, a CAT, a Volvo, they each take a specific install kit, and the heavy-duty units cost more than the light-duty pickup versions people see online. So when you find a low price on a forum, check whether that’s even the right unit for a Class 8 truck. Often it isn’t.
Labor is the smaller and more predictable part. On most trucks the install is a few hours of shop time. It’s tank fittings, mounting the unit, running the supply and return lines, wiring the dash light, and setting the regulator. Nothing exotic, but it needs to be done clean, because a sloppy fuel install causes more problems than it solves.

Rack up serious miles, haul heavy, and keep the truck for the long haul? The AirDog earns its keep. Cleaner fuel means longer injector life, and injectors are not cheap to replace. Drivers tell us the idle smooths out, cold starts get easier, and the throttle wakes up. Some see a small bump in mileage, which on a truck that burns fuel all day adds up over a year.
Running a light-duty truck a few thousand miles a year? The math is thinner. You’ll still get the benefits, they just take longer to pay you back.
